The River Rat Bar & LOUnge offers a unique experience in the picturesque village of Hamble.
Whether you are looking for a relaxed Sunday lunch, a sociable drink or celebration dinner, you'll find a warm welcome at the River Rat.
Within the understated exterior is a stylish modern bar serving a selection of wines by the glass or bottle, and a wide choice of local gins and fabulous cocktails. Upstairs you'll discover a contemporary bistro style restaurant, whilst on the ground floor is a more casual lounge bar, and the beautiful garden and popular heated ‘huts’ provide a year-round al-fresco dining experience. Join us in our garden for one of our Jazz & Fizz afternoons every Saturday 1-3pm June-August, or one of our popular themed quiz evenings.
Offering light bites, baguettes and burgers as well as Sunday roast, prepared with care and attention by our brilliant kitchen team. Priding ourselves on classic, no frill, freshly prepared food.
We are located at the top of the cobbled High Street. Pay and display parking is available in Hamble Square or the Foreshore car park. Please note our venue has a number of steps into and around the premise.
Not all of our outside tables have heaters but do have some form of shelter, but we have plenty of blankets and hot water bottles. However do wrap up warm! Credit card guarantee is required for all bookings.

Are you dog friendly? We love our four-legged friends and they are more than welcome in our garden and downstairs bar areas
Is there a dress code? No shirtless or shoeless but otherwise any attire you desire
Can we come in just for a drink? Yes of course, our garden is perfect for a sunny drink or our cosy bar in colder periods
